It is the First Era of the New Age, Mankind has arrived in Tamriel and has found only a hostile environment, however through war, and conquest they have forged an Empire, from Atmora to Cyrodil, making Man the most honored race in Tamriel. However as time passes it has become clear that the gods will become a pivotal role in world events, as the Humans have waged wars for their gods just as the Elves have waged war for their Egos. If mankind wishes to overcome the other races they must first overcome their dependence on the Divines for answers.
It is because of our homeland that we are here, be it Atmora never existed, mankind would have never existed. This is why it saddens me to see it be swallowed by the sea of ghosts, and turned into an Iceland that man will one day be unable to inhabit. -Emperor Tiber Septim
Atmora is called "The Cradle of Mankind" or sometimes "Home of Mankind" as it is the native land of the Humans, they arrived by ship to Tamriel, and while Atmora continues to become more and more cold, this is no worry for it's people. Nearly all food is shipped to Atmora several hundred days in advance from it's "colonies" which are in reality lands held by Atmoran Nobles since the beginning of their arrival in Tamriel. It is well known that while the Emperor is the strongest power in Tamriel, The Atmoran King could quickly pull rank on even the emperor.
Is it really possible to describe Cyrodil in words? The beauty is immense, the farms are lush, and the cities are the safest in the empire. It is no wonder it receives such favoritism from the Emperor.

A storm is brewing above the Heart of the Empire. Cults dedicated to Daedra worship clash with the ordinary citizens who find their acts repulsive. A deep seated hate begins to brew as many begin to worry that these cults may even be trying to summon the beings they worship into our realm. Some have even taken up arms against the cultists, fearing the repercussions if a hole was tore into our realm.
